Good Shepherd, Inc. is a not-for-profit health care corporation and, as such, has an IRS classification of 501(c)(3).  Consequently, we welcome public donations to support our mission.

Our mission is to provide a high quality of living for seniors in a caring Christian community.  This
community spans our retirement apartments, assisted living, and health center - the Good Shepherd continuum of care.  Good Shepherd also reaches out to other North Iowa elderly with programs of Telephone Reassurance and Sunday Senior Smorgasbord.
Telephone Reassurance is a FREE reassuring phone call to senior live-alones.  Good Shepherd has offered this service to North Iowa seniors since 1975.  It began with a grant from the John Gregory Lindon estate and now relies solely on public donations and Good Shepherd in order to continue this service.  Nearly 300 North Iowa seniors are enrolled in Telephone Reassurance.

The Senior Smorgasbord provides a delicious dinner buffet to seniors, age 62 and above, and their guests at very affordable prices.   The smorgasbord dinner is served in the John Gregory Lindon Hall (Chapel) in our Health Center.

There are many ways to support Good Shepherd's mission.  Gifts can support our general budget or they can be restricted to a particular project such as Telephone Reassurance and Senior Smorgasbord.  We have other projects that could use public support so if you are interested in a restricted gift, please call Mike Svejda, Administrator, at 641-424-1740.
